Twingo 133-1

We have no idea who writes Renault’s press releases, but we have a sneaking suspicion that this one about the Twingo RS 133 leaving the British market was written by a woman. Because a man simply cannot muster so much emotion describing his children, let alone a car!

As you have probably gathered reading the above lines, the Twingo RSS 133 is going out of the market, and after that out of production, to make way for an all-new model. Now, Renault UK apparently has six left in stock which are “awaiting new loving homes,” says the PR.

Likening the 133 to a little puppy is quite relevant actually, seeing as the car is small, pretty excitable, and has big puppy-dog eyes. If only it had a long tongue and a waggly tail. They keep on droning on about how adorable the 133 is, referring to the 133hp 1.6-litre engine as “peppy”, and the looks as “cute and racy”. Check out a few snippets below:

“Critically acclaimed from the outset, not just by the way it drove and handled, but also for its sporty looks and cheeky character, its departure, be it temporary or otherwise, is sure to be sorrowfully noted.”

“Its cute, but racy looks set the scene for a focused driving experience even before you got behind the chunky Renaultsport leather steering wheel.”

“Whichever version buyers opted for, be it the standard version with Sport chassis, the even more sought after Cup chassis versions, or exclusive Gordini or Silverstone GP limited editions, in any guise, it offered a bucketload of smiles.”

Renault also mentions the 320hp V6 mid-engined and rear-wheel-drive Twin'Run while talking about the Twingo’s replacement, confirming that it is going to be based on the concept car. Whether or not it will get an RS version is yet to be revealed.
